My problem with David Cross isn't that he's in bad films, which he's obviously done for money and we can all ignore, but that he's been given the opportunity to do the things that he's wanted to do, like Todd Margaret, and those things, like Todd Margaret, have sucked ass. Bigger and Blackerer was lazy and boring too.

@avclub-c1a181c99ac4568d774b6585bc0a2153:disqus I realise that, but it's still a matter of implied time. There isn't an easy answer to this, but the montage makes it feel like it was accomplished with no effort at all since there was nothing at al of any note happening in that time.

I find stoned people less annoying than people on coke, but then again I don't like Sgt Pepper either. This could all be a giant coincidence, admittedly.

It's interesting that while the actual smoking of marijuana should be legal, practically every  every other action associated with it should be punished with extreme prejudice.

The gimmick account machine now in full swing is like pornography, in that every possible grouping and combination will eventually be explored.

It was a good montage, but it seems like a bit of a cheese to have him succeed over the course of a few minutes when we've been watching him fail for five and a half seasons.

Not to mention that Amis is still perpetuating this literary star-system by periodically coming out with some epatering toss to keep himself in BBC2 appearances and literary sinecures.

The label 'postmodern' is an incredibly unhelpful one, given that many of the features of the novels given this label are Modernist or even pre-Modernist. This tendency seems to me more indicative of the peculiar hegemony that Realism has over fiction than anything else.

I read Carpenter's Gothic and Agape Agape first simply because I felt I would be more likely to finish them. They're both illustrative of his style and accessible even if they're not as well-regarded as the others. I actually really enjoyed the former.

The preferred term is 'a bender'.
