Being a relatively new Best Show listener, I like to go back and find the source of clips Tom uses in the Sound Collages. Some of them are quite easy to find (the Four Loko Christmas episode segment that gave us "Hi I'm Dennis" is on youtube) but others I've had to try and find mentioned on the FOT forum. I'd love to

Apart from the Islands records, there's not a lot that interests me in May. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, since April had so many great and intricate albums (like A Sailor's Guide and Hope Six ) that I need to explore further.

I remember seeing posts a few months back about Jimmy Pardo hosting a live Cards Against Humanity game show at UCB. I have no idea what the format was or if it was popular, but I think Scott Aukerman and Paul F. Tompkins were panelists, so I assume it was great.

I can definitely see a Tom Petty-John Lennon episode in the future. Maybe they can collaborate and do a Whistlin Pete album.

I'm a big Spont fan, but even I'll admit that the past few episodes (not having listened to today's yet) have been ho-hum in the improv section. PFT always knocks it out of the park in the interview section, regardless of the guest, but the improv has always depended largely on the other improvisers.

Even as someone whose podcast listening is probably a 90% politics and comedy, I was a bit leery of a political comedy podcast, since it's so easy to be unfunny or repetitive in that genre. Having listened to the first 3 episodes, I've been pleasantly surprised at how bizarre it has been. When doing Crossfire-esque

James Adomian does a pretty good one too, but I think LaMarche still comes out on top.

The part about AP Mike dressing up as a general and bossing actual soldiers around had me in stitches. Over the weekend I went back and listened to both of the Top 100 Fictional Characters episodes from last year and boy are they ever great.

Oh how I've missed the mad-from-hunger ramblings of Matt Gourley.

In my university French course last year we had to watch the original film and write a review of it. I remember it being essentially a worse Driving Miss Daisy with puerile humour for an alleged dramedy. I titled my review " An unmoving film", but I think that must have been lost in translation because my professor

FIDLAR - Stupid Decision
Blue Rodeo - Diamond Mine
They Might Be Giants - Black Ops (Alt. Version)
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Far From Me
Mac DeMarco - My House by the Water (Instrumental)
Leonard Cohen - Go No

I heard an ad for it while listening to another CBC podcast ( The House, I think). Seems intriguing enough, but I can't help but think the same thing that usually crosses my mind with most CBC programming: "Boy this would have been groundbreaking/unique 2+ years ago!"

A few decent moments in this episode, but boy did I have trouble paying attention for the full 50-odd minutes. More so than usual.

When I go to Queens, I have a *GOOD* time!

Even if you include goofballs, just off the top of my head I can't think of anything since The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear that has come as close to being as funny as the original.

Thao & The Get Down Stay Down - Nobody Dies
Leonard Cohen - Sisters of Mercy
Modest Mouse - Dashboard
Bruce Springsteen - We Take Care Of Our Own
The Decemberists - A Beginning Song
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds Feat. Kylie Minogue - Where the Wild Roses Grow
Tegan & Sara - Northshore
Shad - Fam Jam (Fe Sum Immigrins)

The nice thing about Whistlestop is that Dickerson hasn't been afraid to go back and look at the same election cycle from a separate storyline (like the batshit crazy Cleveland/Blaine race), or to expand a really good story over a couple of episodes (ie. The Eisenhower v. Taft nomination). The Democratic race in 2004

The FiveThirtyEight Dean Scream podcast was quite well produced (apparently they are working with ESPN on these election documentaries), but the actual content of it was lacking. While it was interesting to hear them include interview segments with Dean and other members of his campaign team, the analysis of it was

Ford was so painfully obvious that I was shocked anyone missed it.
