John Wilmot penned his poetry riddled with the pox
Nabokov wrote on index cards, at a lectem, in his socks
St. John of the Cross, he did his best stuff imprisoned in a box
And Johnny Thunders was half alive when he wrote Chinese Rocks (not really, but it works for the song)

Those really haven't been the same since Hader left; no more Pacino, no more Alda, and worst of all no more Fierstein.

I would have loved to see 20,000 Days on Earth get some Oscar documentary love just for how weirdly and wonderfully stunning it is, but at the same time I get that it doesn't really fit neatly into the "documentary" category.

I assume you then plan on burning the Walmart down?

I was reading the FJ clue waaay too in depth on this one. I figured the use of the word "fertile" was a hint, so my mind went to Mesopotamia and I went with the Euphrates.

For a creative writing assignment in Grade 8, I borrowed very heavily from the Piranha Brothers sketch and never got caught.

Agreed. It's a shame that they couldn't also do a freestyle rap battle, since Neil Campbell's rap stardom rivals only Amy Poehler and Dick York.

Haven't listened to today's yet, but that's what I thought too. I generally like Horatio on the show and I get that they're trying to promote his new podcast on Earwolf, but he doesn't have a big or broad enough repertoire of characters to justify this many appearances this early into the year.

As ass-backwards as the Grammys usually are, they nailed it in giving Rosanne Cash 3 awards. The River & the Thread is an absolute masterpiece.

I was positively gleeful when I found out that Jennifer was from Longmont, though I wish she worked for United Parcel Service and that instead of writing the correct response in FJ she could have put, "You'll be commanded to testify before Artie Yamamoto."

I tried to cut corners on my Final Jeopardy guess by narrowing down the field to the Big Five winners (It Happened One Night, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and The Silence of the Lambs), which seemed reasonable since the three leads (Gable, Nicholson, and Hopkins, respectively) all had a long list of great films

This episode certainly (and inexplicably) had a 90s theme: A sketch with a long A Few Good Men reference; a completely random Shawshank parody; and most of all, "Wishing Boot", which nailed the 90s country sound and look (I can only assume that they were "impersonating" Reba, Wynonna, and Alan Jackson).

"They're heading for the old mill!"

After starting off the day with some A.M. Ale.

Interestingly enough, I went with "dragoon" on the cavalry question, which I believe would have also been correct since it meets the description and has a double o in it.

"We burned this tight-arsed city to the ground in 1814 and I'm all for doing it again."

Trevor Potter damn near co-hosted the show for a few months, so I was so happy to see him again.
