Considering how well Boardwalk Empire has been able to tie up storylines without making it feel rushed in a shortened season, in addition to Van Patten's directing and Winter and Korder's writing, I'm feeling pretty confident that Eldorado will be one for the ages. I honestly cannot wait.
I can only imagine him and Richard Harrow hanging out together in Murderer Heaven, or maybe they're both relaxing in Beach Heaven.
For a free five cents:
Why is your phone on a dead girl's penis? Oh wait
I. Hate. Winnipeg.
Based on the words "madness" and "knighthood" in the FJ clue, my first guess was King George III. After remembering that was a play and not a novel, my mind also jumped to Mr. Hyde.
Bruce Springsteen- My City of Ruins
Foo Fighters- Skin and Bones
Pixies- Caribou
Buffy Sainte-Marie- Up Where We Belong
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds- Jack the Ripper
I feel the need to share this:
Pixies- River Euphrates
Bob Mould- The Silence Between Us
Leonard Cohen- You Got Me Singing
LeE HARVeY OsMOND- Leave the House
Blue Rodeo- What Am I Doing Here?
"Yeah, good going Dyke and Fats."
"YOU DON"T GET TO CALL US THAT! ONLY WE GET TO SAY IT! THOSE ARE OUR WORDS!"
I agree completely, but a lot of that has to do with the structure of the shows. Oliver has a much tighter show (a series of monologues, essentially), so his show is more factual and has a clearer/funnier trajectory. Maher show is one of the most open on television, with only a few discussion topics that are expanded…
Timber Timbre- Beat the Drum Slowly
Supertramp- Goodbye Stranger
Roy Orbison- Oh, Pretty Woman (Black and White Night- Live)
Steppenwolf- The Pusher
Leonard Cohen- I'm Your Man
I've like what I've heard so far from this album. I really enjoyed Old Ideas, and to be perfectly honest I assumed that would be his swan song. After all, it came out twenty-odd years after Cohen sang, "Well my friends are gone and my hair is grey". I was fortunate enough to see him perform live in Montreal during the…
Considering how the show likes to play fast and loose with the time frame, when they first turned on the radio in the car a bit of me hoped to hear Jasper Beardly singing "It's the Theme from a Summer Place."
I caught QOTSA at Ottawa Bluesfest this summer, where they were sandwiched between Styx and Foreigner. Here are just a few of the things wrong with this:
Sharon Van Etten - "Nothing Will Change"
Violent Femmes - "Good Feeling"
Metric - "Gimme Sympathy"
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - "The Wind Cries Mary"
Leonard Cohen - "Closing Time" (kinda fitting that it's the last one, eh?)
woozle wuzzle?
I feel like Masters of Sex is fast becoming the new Boardwalk Empire. Aside from the obvious similarities (cable period piece set in the US, etc), it seems that the show crew regularly throws spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. Rather than episodes focusing on a few plot lines to push ahead or important…
Daddy Free Base
He was, but he recently abdicated so he could do some more flirtin' with Pierre Berton.
