wolfmansRazor, I agree with you completely. In the 2000's (the period of time where this comparison is being made) we got to watch films like Mulholland Drive, Synecdoche, New York, Children of Men and all sorts of other unique and daring artistic visions. Television simply can't stack up to that. I mean, if you want

Avril?
Didn't know she was still around! And annoying as ever…

to all the people who haven't heard of this:
Alias is an amazing comic book and would make a great TV show. Though one thing I would wonder about is the comic has lots of the cursing, I'm assuming we won't be getting any of that. But yeah, good comic, great character!

don't know if anyone will see this buried comment…
but Ebert disputes the reason for Elvis Mitchell leaving on is twitter:

I went to that site and got sucked into reading reviews of Beach Boys albums. A review for the aforementioned album that apparently features Mike Love rapping, Summer in Paradise, simply stated, "Mike Love is going to hell." Indeed.

superboy
Sweet Tooth is my favorite ongoing series so I had high hopes for Superboy and was quite dissapointed. It just seemed like another generic superhero comic to me. Oh well.

Bramaster, maybe you should stick to sniffing women's undergarments and leave this to the adults.

Also, you have to consider that Breet Favre's penis has been blown continually for decades by every NFL commentator who has ever breathed air in this country. Thats more than any penis could take.

Children all over the world without the most basic needs fall under the heading of "other sorts of horrible shit going on in the world" so I still win.

With people getting laid off and losing their jobs and homes and economic inequality at an all time high and war and all other sorts of horrible shit going on in the world, the injustices leveled against Conan O'Brien are pretty minor in comparison. Thats all I'm saying.
Plus his schtick is pretty much unchanged.

must we feel sorry for him?
Kind of sick of all the overwhelming sympathy that he gets. Sure, he got screwed over by NBC, but the end result was that he got a shitload of money from them and then just got to do his show on a different network instead. Its not like they killed his family or something.

Yeah, I got lost a few sentences in. I'm impressed/confused by all the genres, sub-genres and sub-sub-genres of music that all sounds like what I would just call techno or electronica.

fuck the haters
This movie is stunning in so many ways. At the very least, a person could buy the blu ray, turn the sound off and just marvel at the cinematography. Those huge sweeping crane shots are stunning.

haven't read the new book
but I remember Night, Dawn and The Accident form a really great little trilogy together. The Accident especially is a great book, I feel like most people are even unaware that Wiesel wrote any books other than Night.

gaslight
Liked them better when they were called Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band!
I kid, I kid! '59 Sound was a great album but this American Slang hasn't done much for me so far. I'll give it another shot, though.

Great Set
Bought this and really digging it. Persian Series and Boulder Blues and Pearls and … are my favorites so far. The man was a genius.

Reminds of the time I saw Styx playing at Rib Fest in Fargo, ND. There were a bunch of drunk middle aged people shouting "no new shit!" and, believe it or not, some panties were thrown.

Cemetary Without Crosses
A really great Euro Western, Cemetary Without Crosses also goes by its foreign title, Un Rope, Un Colt or the English translation of that The Rope, The Colt. It ramps up the darkness and pessimism to an absurd degree and is the best spaghetti western not directed by someone named Sergio. I

I saw Chloe, I actually liked it. If you're wondering if its worth watching, though, just to see Amanda Seyfried get naked, the answer is: Hell. Yes.

hmm…
I remember seeing trailers for this movie and thinking it looked terrible. Perhaps worth a look? The write up intrigued me, but Kevin Costner and Dane Cook in a movie together? I don't know if I can talk myself into that.
