Thredson didn't kill Alma.  I believe they misidentified the remains of one of his other victims as her.  Without DNA, and with the skin and the head missing, it would be tough to get a positive ID on the corpse.

I take it that Sister Jude wouldn't want anyone who she felt sympathy for, who was really in need of help committed to her Asylum.  Her Asylum was a place to punish sinners, not heal the mentally ill.

I compared this season of AHS to old 50's horror comics a few weeks back, and the stuff with Thredson was just perfect.  I've seen plenty of EC comics with a similar setup and the period details make it fit even better.

Actually, the Joker masks were given to the crowd so they'd all die with smiles on their faces, since he wasn't using Joker venom this time around.

I realized that I really want to see a scene with Gyp Rosetti where he's trying to be inconspicuous for some reason and some random guy just keeps deliberately, overtly insulting him.
