He's also Scary Dark Evil Cryptic Guy and the mangled chef.

I like the cut of this thread's jib.
The gutteral growl is just fine for the music it's used in. But we do need the operatic cheese back, and those unholy screaming singers are a big part of the reason.
Still active, and still kicking ass. He wasn't just still going, he was still one of the better musicians in the game. An enviable end.
Ozzy's Ozzy, but in a singoff, Dio would literally kill Ozzy. Yes, literally. Dio would sing, and then Ozzy would die.
Weird, Shaggydog - I had the exact opposite xcperience vis a vis Halford's performance on those two tours. I guess he's just one of hose performers who have definite on nights and off nights. Well, it's not like the fucker hasn't earned it.
I realize this is a venerable schtick and all, and I realize that not having said anything about it until it's applied to an obituary I care about makes me look really selfishly vulnerable. But seriously. This is the most disrespectful shit ever.
Absolutely. And let me tell you, man, H&H was a devastating live act. One of the most affecting performances I've seen, even given the high expectations from the amount of talent in that lineup. He deserves to be remembered as one of the best ever, and it looks like he will be.
I was drunk when I saw H&H and yelled out "Ronnie! Be my Dungeon Master!"
Goddamn this is sad
I'm glad I was able to see him live before he died. Caught him with Heaven and Hell on the Metal Masters tour. He still had every note of his range and every bit of his vocal power. I'm normally not affected by the deaths of people I don't know, but this one is really getting to me.
They've done okay stuff without Worm. Whisper Supremacy and And Then You'll Beg aren't as awesome as None So Vile and Once Was Not, but they're pretty good.
IMO, they're pretty mall-metal, but as mall-metal goes they've definitely go their moments. I hate metalcore as a whole just as strongly as I've ever felt any emotion in my life, but Shadows Fall is one of a handful of MC bands I can dig every now and then.
Slayer's last album got a main page slot by Leonard.
Yeah, Howl sounds rad. Putting that on the get-this-immediately list.
Am I the only one one who doesn't get the Meshuggah love? There are plenty of chuggy technical bands that don't sound like engines falling apart while a metalcore vocalist is tortured in the background.
I would be shocked if Pierce doesn't hate RoF, given his previous thoughts about power metal. Hell, I can't stand Rhapsody and I have a much bigger cheese tolerance than Pierce.
That album they did with Bush of re-recordings was terrible. The guy can't handle the 80s scream like Belladonna could.
Shit yeah. I got into Judge Dredd because that Anthrax song is among the most kickass things that ever happened.
So I like JJ and all
But wow….that title….jeez.
I've read the Muppets screenplay
And it pretty much is your daddy's Muppets, plus Jason Segel. Looks promising.
