Amen. What a misguided reading of the book, which was actually a response to Bush's post 9/11 excesses and invasion of privacy. Wow. Gun control wasn't even mentioned - at the time of publication - as part of the political context the story was engaging.

The video has been removed. Is this the same doc?

That's a great idea - and maybe the team could rally together to fight a big bad like Thanos! Man, that'd be something to see!

Yeah, they're totally asking to be threatened with rape. Stop asking for it!!!

That's right. Three & a half regular inches = just over eight man inches. On the other hand, three & a half woman inches = well, just about three and a half regular inches. It's complicated.

Definitely crazy talk. Now let's get that wall up quick so they won't sneak over here and take our designer, foreign-made Ripley Reeboks!

Outrageous!

Ah. I get it. Thanks, Gorp!

How does one play guitar in a karaoke band? What does that mean? I'm sincerely curious.

What Eagle song? I'm genuinely curious.

@JohnTeti:disqus: what kind of editing software do you guys use to make the videos themselves? Love how functional and understated your design choices are. Really fine video essays.

I'm sure I'm not the first to post this, but I'm compelled to do it any way.

Hey! Moppet! (Truly, it is the new word favorite among AVClub writers these days.)

He said it cost about 500,000 bucks an episode. The space, the cameras, the crew, insurance, and probably some of the cast salaries. That sounds about right.

Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die.

Bazooka Joe.

Man, you're a real jabroni… and it's awesome!

Louis explained on Stern that the actors - at least the leads (Buscemi, for instance) - were doing it for free, with a promise of a share of the profits later. It says a lot about their faith in the completed scripts that such a powerhouse crew of actors would be willing to work for a promise of future profits.

One note: Alda was the work of the casting director. Louis wanted Joe Pesci for the role. Louis also wrote the parts Jessica Lange & Edie Falco played for them. And, of course, his comedian pals were all his doing - including, especially, Steven Wright. Oh, and he wanted the theme song to be written by Paul Simon,

We knew who you meant. ;-)
