#2 and #13 respectively on my always expanding greatest movies of all time list. Must have been a real joy to watch with fresh eyes.

I had a mixed reaction to the movie (haven't read the book). The acting is terrible and the pacing is a little slow (I felt bored several times throughout) but there are a handfull of braveau sequences that Ang Lee directs the shit out of and I found the twist ending genuinely complex and deep forcing me to rethink

Lorre is just one of the best actors ever isn't he? That final monologue is haunting.

Mr. Rabin's excellent review made me aware of Maria Bamford's new special. It is as special as her title makes it out to be. I watched it again on Saturday.

Boardwalk Empire will probably take its place in the fall 13 spot I'd assume. Pairing up with the mini series True Detective and mini season of Treme. HBO seems to have their rocks that they build their schedules around: Girls in the winter (I assume it will stay there for a while), Game of Thrones in the spring, True

They all deserved it except the Kyle Kinane record (an A- or B+ would probably be better). But come on. Tig, PFT, and the Bammer are amongst the greatest comedians in the world and they all put out what's probably their career best works. AVC isn't being liberal, this is just an amazing year for comedy.

Anybody notice how similar the backstories of Seymour Skinner and Don Draper are?

If my doodie can get out of this place, maybe I can too.

Agreed. Such an amazing movie. Maybe Ashby's best.

I started The Good Wife. I didn't think that that would be a show that I would get addicted marathon sessions a la Breaking Bad but here we are, seventeen episodes later. I really really like this show. And I have a feeling it's just the tip of the iceberg. It's a bummer looking at how poor the reviews are grade-wise
