Really? I never saw it but just from the trailers (and title) I assumed it was all on land.

Brutal Legend. It looked like it was going to be an awesome open world action/adventure game, and it was up to a certain point. Nothing in the marketing gave any indication that all the major sections of the game would be (not very good) RTS battles. It was OK, but a lot of players at the time felt tricked/let down by
