I love the Roger Sterling wisecracks as much as anyone, and he provides a bit of much needed levity.  But it sometimes surprises me how much love the character gets considering he is a born-rich playboy responsible for such gems as the My Old Kentucky Home Blackface variety show, hitting on Betty in Don's own house

Damn, I wish I had read further down the comment stream before I made that (now) obviously cliched "I'm from the future…" joke

I come from the future, and you are wrong.

There was a band called Mos Eisley from my home town.  I believe that after a few years of gigging and recording under that name they were forced to change it, I think by LucasFilms or whoever owns them.  The same could've happened here.

@avclub-cdef27381eb66efd223f0ea7572024b4:disqus  - This is the AVClub, we *all* take TV far too seriously…

Drake can fuck right off as well.  Apparently he started slut-shaming Rihanna on Twitter and in a song too after the two of them, allegedly, had a brief affair and she wasn't interested in pursuing it any further.  Poor lass really knows how to pick 'em.

Argh!  Great catch!

Why was Ginsberg so sanguine about stabbing Stan in the arm?  He wasn't on anything!  Jesus, I'd hate/love to see him on Vit B.

I yelled "I hate you, Don Draper!" at the TV when he said that.  He chased both of those accounts, Jaguar and Chevy, the agency needed them both to deliver to keep operating.  But as soon as something challenges Don about the accounts, either he doesn't like dealing with Herb or he won't abide by Chevy's micro-managed

H. Maddas - This, exactly!  Don is capable of creative magnificence, but he is no longer putting the effort in to achieve it, or times have changed so much that his ideas that reach towards the idealised, nostalgic family that he never had and so tries to create through his work often doesn't fit with the new, modern

I love that it was checkers!  It tells you everything about those two characters; a couple of shallow good-time boys wanting to appear to be suave and strategic but without the intellect or, more importantly, the discipline to learn chess.  Great choice from the writers.

THAT'S who he looks like!  Thank-you!

To be fair, it was @avclub-754537075c5105c55477db49c94d584f:disqus who (I assume) jokingly brought up H.O.O.P. which is an anti-circumcision group, so @avclub-9ff7c9eb9d37f434db778f59178012da:disqus wasn't the one to bring up circumcision.

I absolutely adore Elizabeth!  Its so rare to see a kinda schlubby girl on TV who is absolutely fine like that, isn't hiding secret self-loathing or a desire to be made-over and the audience are meant to like her and think she's awesome rather than pity her or laugh at her.

Some of my biggest laughs have come from Winston reaction shots.  His seductively sipping on cocktails at Schmidt's Danger!Party in the season opener being one.  I really hope that Winston gets more to do next year, its the only failing I can find with this show.  The writers are incredibly talented; that they can

I totally agree.  On the face of it I loved the episode and the little touches of Winston obviously being off doing his own thing, renting Eddie Murphy Delirious suits for example (I wonder how many of those he tried on?  I wonder why he didn't go for Raw?) but we don't see what he's up to and have to fill in the

I really wasn't a fan of Nick at least at the beginning the first season (I've obviously come around though - Year of Nick Miller!) and didn't like that the show seemed to be setting it up for Jess and Nick to become the main romantic pairing on the show when I didn't see the chemistry between them.  I remember

WINSTOOOOO-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-ON!

I really think that look that she gives at the end of the scene is a sad, resigned "Why couldn't you have told me this earlier?"

I agree, the way in which the scene later that episode between Don and Sylvia was framed, the two of them on the bed, similar (albeit less hideous and garish) coloured bed-spread.  He was angry at being reminded maybe that his affair is just tawdry and unoriginal like many affairs.
