I tweeted SM and the Jicks then someone tried to convince me dronecoma was legit. It's a pretty good parody of him.

OK this is somewhat related. I'm pretty sure Stephen Malkmus had a bit part in Inherent Vice where he served Joaquin Phoenix's character coffee. You can't see his head but his voice is unmistakable. I tweeted at Malkmus about this but didn't get a response (not like I deserved or expected one). Internet searches have…

"Dr. Dre is one of the architects of West Coast rap and a pillar of hip-hop production" you forgot "serial physical abuser of women"
I have a hard time listening to him anymore. It's beautifully crafted music but there's too much emotional baggage attached to it. His lyrics can be compelling on their own, but will forever be tied to his downward spiral and fucked up junkie life and I don't necessarily want to revisit or celebrate that.
I think your argument has some Substance.
Our criteria/constraints for a band name are:
I have a new band and we've been holed up practicing for almost a year, getting ready to record. We don't have a name and it's become impossible to come up with a good one. I give up. All good ones are taken
Goo Goo Dolls, Gin Blossoms, Fastball, Stroke 9, Third Eye Blind…
The suburban mom garage band playing a Teenage Fanclub song in a sports bar was something only Diablo Cody could write. I'm fairly ambivalent to her work overall. Sometimes it feels oddly charming and others cloying and pretentious.
Like Lena Dunham in Girls, Theroux takes his top off for no discernible reason.
It was the '60s maaaan.
I remember years ago someone wrote in describing his desire for "quivering quim" and Dan said "excuse me while I douse my head in a bucket of bleach"
I say nwar. can't commit to the silent r.
so kill all the Brits?
You can stop now. They will however, go on forever, placating the masses with their musical comfort food.
It sounds surprisingly tight. I'm guessing they had a few primary musicians who were close-miked and some mics placed throughout that caught the majority of musicians. The guitars have that chorus effect that leads me to believe it wasn't an equal mix of 100s of guitars. Really cool project.
For new music, I tend to gravitate to bands that have grown old gracefully like the National, Teenage Fanclub, Spoon, SM and the Jicks etc. (I'm 43 with a wife and kids). It's nice to know there are middle aged indie rockers making relevant music. This is is a gross generalization but so many young bands feel like…
Ya know I think that stonecutter's line really fucked with his rep. Everyone was all "yeah that guy sucks!" He's sort of rebounded and has a low profile and we can enjoy his work without too much irony but that was a low blow.
Hey I couldn't pick between Q Tip and Phife Dawg and Rosario Dawson couldn't either.
