Guess I should read the article (or even the headline). Standalone means no subscription needed, duh. Still, how can I get this for free?

"OK which one of my friends or family has a subscription to Showtime so I can mooch off them and get their password." - everyone reading this article.

I'll take sober missionary sex on clean sheets right after a shower over this any day.

I had to go on stupid vacation with my stupid family for a week and missed the Replacements, Father John Misty, King Tuff and Ride. I had to move mountains to see Belle & Sebastian and Real Estate the night before we left.

"Hold on we're going home" is the only one I know because my wife likes it. I was always curious about this guy because he's insanely popular but I guess he just peddles the same faceless r&b hip-hop pop hybrid stuff that passes for music nowadays. Does he rap? I've never heard it.

$50mm? Geez, that's a sizable golden parachute. Contract or no, Brian Williams should be punished financially. This sounds like a reward.

I've never seen Looking so I don't know how far HBO pushes the gay sex envelope, but I don't think basic cable could handle a show like this.

I'm a special treat! Not for daily consumption.

I had a salad for lunch and smoothie for breakfast, so feeling pretty pleased with myself right now.

That Sal and Bob Benson spin-off sounds delightful! Would watch.

Judging from a quick google image search I did, Lori Loughlin looks better at 50 than she ever did. I'll be in my bunk, etc, etc.

Beach House make good music, but my dismissal (and many others, I believe) stems from their inability to expand on the sound they initial created. It's the same shit 5 albums later. Same arrangements, tempo, mood—there's little that distinguishes one song from the next. They all sound the same, save for slight

True story: when I was a kid in the car with my dad, this song came on the radio and he thought Billy Idol was singing "How's about it babe?"

"the album won’t produce a sea change in the band’s sound" Well that's not surprising at all but still disappointing. If this band took any chances whatsoever to expand on the sound they initially created I would stick with them. Five albums that are entirely interchangeable is a deal breaker.

What the fuck is this, Hacker News?

How old is Helen Miran cuz she ain't too old for me. I'm 43.

I love Aztec Camera and Prefab Sprout. 2 of the best British pop bands of the 80s. Looks like Destroyer is mining similar territory as the last record Kaputt because I heard those influences on that one.

Let's also blame those stupid, trendy bands that have ridiculous names that are purposefully misspelled or all caps with omitted vowels or an extra vowels. I'm looking at you Wooden Shjips, Suuns and GRMLN

Yeah I wouldn't buy some palatial estate like this monstrosity. It's like running a business—I'm sure she has dozens of employees to maintain it. Who needs the hassle. If I were rich I'd get a nice reasonably-sized house with a nice kitchen and pool and no more bedrooms than I need plus one for guests.
