Thinking back, you must be right. I was doing some other stuff during last night's episode, so missed the full line. My bad.

That wasn't horse piss
There was an express reference to giving the horse chocolatey laxatives. Eww.

Am I the only one that actually kind of liked Be Here Now? Yeah, it wasn't another Morning Glory or Definitely Maybe, but it was decently solid. If they hadn't gone all crazy in the couple of years before, I think it would have been more appreciated at the time (instead of seen as subpar when they were describing

Agree with Michael Clayton re: Buffy - of the main characters, she was the least interesting. Sure, there were some peripherals that were more irritating (Riley and Dawn seem to top the list), but of the Buffy/Willow/Xander/Giles group, Buffy is by far the weakest.

I don't know….
I didn't think this episode was quite as bad as last week. If nothing else, the Sylar/Peter double is finally going somewhere again. Though I'm not sure why Peter would need Sylar's power when he could just use his own to emulate everyone else's powers. If I thought the writers were more competent, I

And now for something completely different.

30 minutes too long
I've pretty much always thought that 90 minutes was too long for this show. Every one of these reviews has basically said, "Gee, this would be great if they cut out 30 minutes of crap." Though it's quite possible they would cut 10 minutes of crap and 20 minutes of good stuff… Regardless, it's

I was (and still am) pissed about Carnivale. But the show did bring it on itself. The first season, while cool, really was dragged out well beyond what a general audience could be expected to watch. Things picked up in the second season, but by that point everyone had stopped watching it. So wish there could at

I had a friend in college who was very upset when Kindred the Embraced was cancelled. She strangely preferred it strongly to Buffy. No idea why. No idea why I thought of this just now.

Good question. IMDB and wikipedia list them as Charleses, but they definitely are called the Darlings at several points. Now I'm just hopelessly confused.

I think the helmets of vanquished foes make better wine goblets.

No, it still doesn't make sense, since they all have the same last name. Either there is some freaky incest going on, or something has not been explained about Chuck's father. My theory is that he is not really her father, but merely adopted her when Lily secretly gave birth.

Last names, though. How are they all Charleses if they weren't related to begin with?

The big difference between Maher and O'Reilly is that O'Reilly has a nightly primetime show on a news network. Maher has a Friday night (11pm) show on HBO. He's not claiming to be a reporter or part of the mainstream press. He's a guy with a political show.

It may have just been the only place to send a young gal up the family way. I'm sure there were plenty of young protestant girls who ended up at convents for a few months.

Since they all have the last name of "Charles," I'm going to stick with the theory that Chuck's "father" was Vivian and Lily's brother and not actually her biological father. Which would mean that her biological father is still out there…

Porter
Loved the bit with Olive waiting for the porter to take her stuff (including a couch!) up to her cell, when the mother superior had actually said the poor would take her things. Hilarious. Though, it would have been great to see Sister Katrina from Wonderfalls at the convent. Or at least a reference to a

It wouldn't really make sense any other way, but have they said that Chuck's dad was Vivian and Lily's brother? Assuming yes, I would guess that Lily told him what was going on and he agreed to adopt Chuck as his own daughter and made up a story about how the non-existent mother had died in childbirth.

Good question about the scar. Maybe he prefers the way he looks with it.

Ooh, Sylar now has a boomerang! That will be useful when fighting Dr. Wiley.
