I went in blind and made seriously loud gasp-y noises when NPH got shanked.

I saw this with my partner and a guy friend who brought a girl he has been on a few dates with. We hit the john on the way out of the theater and my friend's date said that after the movie she leaned over to my friend and said, "….I really identified with the wife." She didn't think he was nearly as amused as she was.

4) So very much agreed on Grace Park. I did like Aaron Douglas though, I thought he did the grounded blue collar dude role well, and I believed his crisis of identity when he thinks he's a Cylon. I liked to look at Helo, and that was about it (I am not even going to try to spell his actual name.)

I don't know if I'd go so far as to say *most* useless, but I would agree that the actress is definitely one of the weakest of the bunch and is being asked to take on some of the most challenging material. I never bought her big crisis of identity because Grace Park just wasn't selling it.

I don't know how much of this was actually the writers intent, but the fact that the reveals about the Cylons weren't as awesome an all powerful as was implied makes sense for a young race (species?) who actually don't understand their enemy as well as they thought they did and whose plans after the initial attack…

I love this, and I wish it had been made clear on screen.

I very much agree. I think the problem is that some people (I'm thinking especially of TB and the vampires as gays here) want to take it as a one to one stand-in, which doesn't fit very well, like you said would actually be fairly dull unless done incredibly well.
