Being about Jesus doesn't make The Chronic(What?)cles of Narnia any less awesome.

Agnieszka Holland's film is the definitive one for me (although it inexplicably swaps out cholera for an earthquake). Just a beautiful and enthralling version of one of my favorite stories.
I saw them at Lollapalooza in…'95? I think? Anyway, right when Last Splash was big, and I was big into it and excited to see them. They stood stock still, played the prescribed number of songs in an entirely perfunctory manner, did not engage with the audience in any way, and got the fuck off the stage. Huge bummer.

Oh wow, there's a thread that's still alive when I finally get around to reading the review. And it's about lesbian stuff!

I have a soft spot for "Only the Good Die Young", because listening to it at Catholic middle-school parties felt so deliciously transgressive.
I am also a person who holds this opinion.
Hey, one of my bands covers "Making Time". Can we be on the AV Club? We're really good, I promise.
In all seriousness, I thought they were playing basketball. Like, I was sure it was in the lyrics until I actually thought about the lyrics.

Sam Cooke was not on Motown.
Answer: no one.
I'm looking forward to the Aussie Open semis tonight! Anyone else stoked that Sloane Stephens took out drama queen Serena? I don't think Sloane's quite ready to win a major yet (her nerves betrayed her a bit last night, and she benefited from Serena's loss of composure), but it'll happen soon. Sharapova/Azarenka…
Works for my sister. Every show she watches ends up being on for like 15 years.
Sah kyuut.
