I'm pretty sure the point is for all of us to reevaluate how we're spending our time.

OK, here's my deal: I'm from New Jersey, but I now live in Oregon. I've seen Bruce a bunch of times in Jersey, and it's never been less than an ecstatic experience. On the last tour, though, I saw him in Portland, and it was weirdly disappointing. I blame this entirely on Portland not being in New Jersey.

Every time I see her I just get sad that Phoebe Cates doesn't act anymore.

I'll tell you, that soulful gaze will make a gay girl think twice.

In my city's library, all children's books were shelved together regardless of genre, but the mystery books were marked with a skull and crossbones on the side. I went through a long period where I would just go down a row and pick out anything with a skull and crossbones on it. No specific series that I can recall,

I can confirm that for "straight-appearing" gay women, like me, being mistaken for heterosexual is a concern. Besides the weird hostility you face for subscribing to patriarchal blah blah blah, it's just harder to get dates.

I have only the vaguest memory of this, but based on your description I'd love to see an AV Club analysis. It's a shame that The Facts of Life later brought in an obvious coded lesbian in the form of Jo, but showed no interest in having her explore her sexuality.

Ooh, I'll vote for this one. The early seasons of Roseanne offered one of the most realistic depictions of adolescence (at least as I experienced it) ever seen on TV. I'm sure there are any number of episodes that would work, but it might as well be this one.

@avclub-6258e285eeb51b21d01ffe9cb9f9c1d1:disqus , I'm an administrative professional and I concur with you. However, your weird spelling of "criminy" would get you tossed in the rejection pile regardless.
