Thanks so much for the reply, and that definitely did clear some stuff up: I'd somehow forgotten that Regina's appearance at the castle was her telling them all a curse was coming, and she did it later in time once she had her ducks in a row.  So just so I'm sure I'm following: in the meantime, Gepetto built the

Thanks for the reply - though the war in Charming's flashback I'm talking about is from 2 or so episodes ago, the one where Charming's mother is hit with the poisoned arrow and eventually dies.  There is definitely a war being waged then, but I don't understand why.

That was my immediate fear and reaction when I heard the purpose of the Five, and it has me worried. All in good time though, with the possibility of many a twist ahead, which you pretty much also

That's what I think happened as well

Worst episode of the second season, easily, mainly due to the absolutely terrible and distracting CGI/green screens.  Laughed out loud when Emma fell back down off the beanstalk.  Mainly because that's totally how I'd look trying to get down.  Coordination issues.

i couldn't figure this out either which left me really uncomfortable/nervous about the fall-out.  i don't know why this was left ambiguous; it doesn't really serve any good narrative purpose.
