Day for Night is one of my Desert Island Discs. That record is just perfect, from beginning to end.

As a die hard American (and Texan at that) Hip fan, I was always kind of glad they didn't get huge down here. It meant that I could see them in 800-1500 seat venues like La Zona Rosa and The Backyard, instead of arenas. Of course, I've always secretly wanted to be Canadian.
ROUDNESS!!!!!!!!!
We played that disc incessantly the summer it came out, then, nothing. At least Roger Creager and his band still play a lot of the material live, and to pretty big crowds here in the southwest.
Whenever I would go see the Hip in Austin, it was always me and 500 Canadian ex-pats. They would never believe me when I said I was from Texas.
I saw Big Country on the comeback tour they did for "Buffalo Skinners". They did the best arena rock show I've ever seen, only it was at Liberty Lunch, in front of about 50 people.
Did she have a helicopter and a submarine?
I was reading the comments wondering if anyone was going to mention the Hip. I used to love going on alt.music.tragically.hip back in teh early days of the internet and driving the Canadians mad with tales of seeing the band in 500 person clubs in the states, instead of 10k capacity arenas.
As much as loathe Rick Perry, there is one thing I agree with him on. I fucking hate cancer. This sucks.
Difference is about two cup sizes, Brosef.
That would be WITHOUT repercussions. As a sign of solidarity with my fellow workers, I'm taking the day off from editing.
I hear you, Ape. One year I worked every major holiday except for Christmas Day. Douchebag manager even thought it would be a good idea to be open on Thanksgiving. I told him I would do it, under two conditions: 1) the restaurant ponied up Thanksgiving dinner for the staff, and 2) we could smoke all the weed we…
While I agree that they are Lucas' films and he can pretty much do whatever he wants to them, his continued insistence on making it impossible to own the original cuts in any kind of modern format means that, yes, George Lucas is luring my childhood into an unmarked white van and inserting his pudgy, diabetes ridden…
This review skips the most pertinent question. Is Laetitia Casta gratuitously nude?
I have two buddies who graduated from Kingsville, and we had family friends who used to live there in the late 70's. Used to go and play in the stripped out jet in the park. But other than that, yeah. Kingsville. When Victoria is a step up.
Not only do I remember Traveller, I own it. In the original black box, with the Mercenary, High guard, and Scouts expansions. Thank you Ebay, a boon to the nerds of the 80's. I may actually have a couple of Boot Hill characters in a folder somewhere.
All right, Pairesta, name the town and name it now. Aransas Pass? Rockport? Tivoli? This proud son of the Texas Gulf Coast must know.
I feel all motivated and shit.

I'm pretty sure I've seen the porn version of this, and it was much more entertaining.
I wish
I wish Miranda July had a cock. Just so I could punch it.
