Frasier's a good one. The dumbest main character, Ros, wasn't all that dumb. Maybe you can argue she fits the bill, but I think not. Her archetype was the, uh, slut. And Daphne was the weirdo.

George is not classically dumb. He has a degree, and he's had some decent jobs.

The dumb guy/girl is an exceedingly common trope in comedies. It's so much easier to write comedy when one of your characters thinks that Europe is a country and it's right next to Toronto.

That's what I learned from this rewatch — I think it fell off earlier than I had remember. Season 3 is pretty good though; it just has some of the same issues as the later seasons. That's clouded by Ben and Chris, who were barely in season 2 but they have some of my favorite moments. Without them, the show would have
