I am glad to read a comprehensive series review from a fan. Seeing as how the AVclub will review things that aren't the Sopranos/Wire/MadMen by people who actively hate the thing they're covering.

I loved the semantic humor running throughout the movie but what is particularly damning to the rest of Hollywood was that these fat ass brits did better, more coherent fight choreography than most "true" action films.  It was so pleasant to actually see and comprehend what the various people were doing in the fights

Also, what's up with British Harvey?  At what point does he decide to leave town?

Harvey's clock is running all the time.  Mike is special and is probably priced into Harvey's time.  Every time Litt yells at one of the kids…those are the billables being made.  Our main protagonists are all partners and take their skim off of their 18 hour work days, plus whatever it is they actually do during the

In no movie I've ever seen has the Federal Marshall protecting the critical witness ever had an extended conversation with some punk who shows up at the door. I think, at this point in American pop culture, the Witness Holding Federal Marshall Hotel Door is basically a free fire zone because we've all been conditioned

right, FCPA because American companies should be disadvantaged by not being allowed to play by local rules and customs overseas.  Ava was originally charged because of the bribe. and then the murders.  That was the process because Cole got a boner for Ava.  Judging by her accent and other non-verbal cues,  I get the

The dead people are dead africans killed by other africans paid for by british people.  So, bingo.  US jurisdiction because TV.

I was very amused by how manipulated Jessica was by Harvey.  "let me come clean so that you throw a shit fit and break up the merger that I was powerless to breakup."

Oh, and maybe British Harvey was good at his job after all.  Or not.  So, I get that he "fixed" things by setting up a murder. Sure sure.  But wasn't he also supposed to not screw up Ava's defense?

What the holy hell was that?  I don't think we can ignore how fucking insane that catnap plot was.  Sure there's no law letting you keep the cat you're cat-sitting and sure a fucking paralegal could outlawyer regular lawyers (you know, somehow being up to speed on relevant case law and evidentiary rules that regular

I smell a spinoff!

There were several F-bombs, the first one was a flucker.  That put up my antenna and then, fer sure, there were a coupla honest to God F-bombs.

Impressions:
First, British Harvey sort of sucks at his job.  What a waste of a slo-mo Cliff Spab intro.
Second, Mike probably shouldn't be practicing law as he was a bit of criminal. Oh yeah, and he never went to law school and probably lied about that to the NY state bar examiners.
Third, what the fuck?  Fuck?  Really?

to all the Bechdel testers out there, I've listened into the girls at my work place and don't worry, once they have kids, all they'll talk about is kids.  Until then, they talk about boys. Rachel and Donna don't work for/with each other usually, so they don't talk about work  (usually, I think they have from time to

no argument there, that was like a record skip in the dialog.
Apparently I am wrong, so hopefully, Donna and Rachel can get over this tragic insult (truth be told, I was confused as to why a viciously harassed Donna proceeded to go out on a date with her attacker, probably because she was in fear for her life and job,

It was interesting to see a tight end flatten the Bengal's vaunted most super duper Defensive Lineman in the Oklahoma drill.  Not for nothing, but the areas of Cincy they showed made the place look pretty nice, not the losing loserville most had assumed it would be (see e.g., the cleveland tourism video).

Further in response to Willoughby:
No quid pro quo, stated or implied.
I think you're allowed to ask a girl out, even if you outrank her, and make no mistake, he does.
As I said up above, I thought that the British version of "you two chicks are gonna make or what" sounded really dumb.  Creepy?  Sure, Rachel called him a

no wait, that is funny.

now that you mention it, that's the sort of course of action that would minimize change the most.  You know, Jessica isn't going be leaving the show to make way for special guest star.

**The premise that a huge nyc-london law firm would risk anything on some associate who has a photographic memory is just beyond absurd. Jessica, Harvey, all the partners would be gone. The firm would be disbanded, every case involving Mike scrutinized and overturned against PD, shitloads of legal malpractice lawsuits
