I'm into the corset, but this popped into my head and now I can't unsee it.

The passage of time on this show always throws me off. I was assuming series one took place over a single summer, and then suddenly three years have passed—it doesn't help that the seasons never change—apparently at Downton it's always summer (the fruit always ripe, Aloysius always in good temper, etc.)
While watching series 1 my roommate and I would joke about how each season would require them to find a new, more distant cousin to groom for the aristocracy—lawyer cousin, sailor cousin, cowboy cousin, vampire cousin. We never thought they'd get to Canadian mummy cousin, though.
Well in The Social Network he definitely nailed the subtraction.
Where Bruce Wayne is is on the list. #8.
Is it really necessary to wear special smuggling gear? No NYC usher has ever batted an eye at my clanking messenger bag. I've walked into Film Forum with undisguised Whole Foods shopping bags. I even brought cups and a couple bottles of champagne to one of the Harry Potter movies (though I did open them very quietly).
I generally smuggle in a supply of 40s appropriate to the movie's runtime.
Obviously not "accurate", but I like Futurama's attitude. Same as the present, but weirder.
Well obviously you're going to the wrong parties, but Romeo + Juliet is a great choice. If Luhrmann's Gatsby doesn't contain one of the greatest movie parties of all time I'm going to be very disappointed.
Yeah, Gatsby is the obvious front-runner. Also:
I had to rewatch The Red Shoes yesterday just to keep my excitement for Black Swan under control. Luckily it's streaming on Netflix, I may have to do it again before the month is out.
If Nolan were going to put Black Mask in this one, shouldn't he be Rutger Hauer from the first one, instead of bringing in Tom Hardy to do it?

I think only Kevin Bacon is zero degrees from Kevin Bacon.
In addition to Bill's reasons, which all seem right, I think the density of the city means that even those who aren't in fashion, or art, or some other field where you dress well and take care of yourself and have good taste, encounter those people often enough that they're motivated to follow suit.
It's understandable that Ians McKellan and Holm were honorably excused due to their participation in Lord of the Rings, but I wonder who Patrick Stewart pissed off to get himself shut out.
Meteor Man! Until now I hadn't figured out why a movie came out in 2002 that I distinctly remembered seeing countless ads for in comic books when I was 9 years old. Thanks for clearing that up.
Well he's going to get married again, right? Faye's line in episode two was foreshadowing? Right now I'm thinking she's the one he marries. Or, he comes close, but it turns out she's wrong and he really isn't a "type".
I was hoping this was about actual Pilgrims
filmed, documentary-style, dealing with day-to-day inanities like "being killed by Indians" and "resorting to cannibalism" "and trying not to freeze to death".
