I've been listening to "Public Strain" a lot over the last few weeks, and scouring the internet to hear if there had been any word of them patching things up and getting down to work again. I was already starting to get pretty down about the possibility of there not being a 3rd album, and then this hit. I just hope

+1 for the longform. Both this and the Van Halen reviews have been a nice change of pace.

His next record, which he's doing as a solo project, sounds like it's going to be a bit
different . . .certainly in theme:

"The World Is Not Enough" also had the Guggenheim Bilbao in the opening sequence, right?

Dear America,

In the 1800's they were accused of attacking children a lot, but that was mostly to drum up anti-wolf sentiment to justify hunting them.

So let's review what we've learned this week: Dane Cook sucks, Lana Del Ray sucks, and Kings of Leon has no original ideas. Looking forward to Carlos Mencia getting arrested tomorrow for stealing material!

So "beleaguered" = "shat upon by angry flocks of pigeons" now?

Fell for this band called Campfires. Like a scrappy, slightly unhinged, garage band version of The Clientele. The playlist I built of all the songs they have as MP3s (most of their albums are only on cassette) was my Album of the Year even if it didn't exist.

Do not sleep on the Bob Welch era. "Future Games" is my jam.

"millions of Atlanta Brave fans" OH HA HA HA. O'Neal you are quite the card! They have to hold NASCAR night to sell out a game.

Actually, I used to look up to everything until everything put out a dubstep album.

Ok, so how many of these bands are actually any good?

The song "Bad As Me" is on Spotify, but not the whole album. No idea why.

Steve, when he mentions "our next album due out in May" does he mean another GBV album? Boston Spaceships? Solo record? Some name he just pulled out of his hat five minutes ago?

The problem is that I'm just fucking nuts enough to do that, and need someone else to separate the wheat from the chaff first in order to talk me out of it.

Looking forward to the "Gateways to Geekery" article on this, when y'all tell us which of the 800 shows are essential listening, which are recommended next steps, etc.

Dear Mick Jagger,

I think The Roots are the closest thing we have to The Justice League at this point. And I'm cool with that.

WHO??????
