I bought Born Like This on iTunes, just so I could get the bonus Thom Yorke remix, because I wanted to hear what it sounded like. But he had to pick that song? Sorry Thom, Dilla's gonna beat you from beyond the grave every damn time.

One of the things I love most about Sonic Youth is that you can ask 10 people what their favorite SY album is and get like 8 different answers. Each album really is it's own little world, that it's just a matter of finding the album you want to live in forever.
They will once Sinbad signs on that goddamned dotted line already.
I'll say this:
It's probably better than "Antz".
Sometime around late May . . .
it's time for Acetone. Any of their albums. But I've been playing "York Blvd" and "I guess I would" a lot this time around.
WAIT, Jethro Tull is a "drug band"?
Jesus, that photo
It's like if Springsteen and John Cusack had a child.
@HippyDaysick:
So excited for this. Everything Kurlansky has written has been gold, and ever since I first heard of this old WPA project (there's been some articles about in over the past few years), I've been hoping someone would actually publish part of it so that everyone could read it.
It's a poorly written, awful book, and I still read it cover to cover in one day, and felt no shame.
also, "wau buried" = "way the fuck down there on like, page 5".
So did the LVT Press Conference
change your opinion of the film? After reading your letter yesterday, part of me wondered if the film is a very over-the-top parody done straight-faced, but if that's the kind of press conference he gave, then maybe not.
I suggested these last time
but they were wau buried in the thread
Yeah, Ballard would be a timely pick. I have only read some of his short stories; I keep meaning to read one of his novels, and I never get around to it.
Anything by Murakami. I've only read "Hard Boiled Wonderland" and loved it. Not sure which one to read next.
See, I didn't even realize they finally finished it. Hooray, got some readin' to do!
Scud the Disposable Assassin
Best killer robot ever. Although it has been awhile. How long? I just visited the Scud website for the first time in 10+ years and it still says "Now available for Sega Saturn".
If you like Iron and Wine, you will love this. I haven't heard the album proper, but I scooped up most of these songs as they floated through iTunes over the past few years. Some of these are my favorite I&W songs. ("Peng" "Trapeze Swinger" "No Moon")
So has he offically crossed the line
into "The New Dave Sim" territory?
Mamet
had the line about when we say "Great cinematography! " we mean that the script was bad. I think it's in "Writing in Restaurants". I don't always agree with him; I think there are certain extraordinary director/cinematographer combos who use cinematography very well to enhance the essential nature of the script…
