In that movie's defense, it DOES look really gorgeous. But man does it suck.

oh good one!
J Love is smoking hot in that trailer. So that's something.
I'm going to be the dumb guy that asks the dumb question here because he doesn't know where to raise the issue: is the AV Club going to review the new Libertines album? I think it was released last week. Also, it's terrific.
I like when you say "glissandos."
Emily Haines is painfully beautiful in that pic.
This album is terrific. First track is one of the best they've delivered in a while. My only issue: the last track, "Me and My Girl in '93" is kinda cringe-y. Not really in Ben's vocal wheelhouse.
It was an inventive conceit, but it didn't translate to the screen. And then there's McHattie. UGH!
He's killing all my icons!
Two things: (1) I laughed out loud when I reached the bottom of the article and saw the Amazon ads for Meow Mix. (2) I know there's a lot of love for Pontypool here, but I'm here to say (again) I despised that movie. That Stephen McHattie guy has to be one of the worst actors I've ever seen, and the movie sticks him…
Wow "Regret" so perfectly transports me back to a great time in my life. As soon as I hear that opening riff I'm there. It's just one of those tunes.
There's something different about that track. I think as soon as people hear Isaac Brock's distinct yelp it's hard to separate the sound from Modest Mouse.
I remember this very well. Great album. "Things I Don't Remember" was a great single.
Call me crazy, but I never felt that De Palma was saying "transgender people are weird monsters," but rather, "this guy is a weird monster and he also happens to be transgender because, you know, I don't have a twist without that discovery."
I enjoy every minute of this film.
I was 23 in 1996 (yes I'm old) and a HUGE horror fan. I saw this opening night in a packed house. This movie was very well marketed and it rocketed out of the box office gates. It was no sleeper. EVERYTHING hit home with this movie. As someone else pointed out, the slasher film was all but dead in 1996. We were…
Collapsing under its own cleverness … see: Cabin in the Woods
YES, this! Joss Whedon could have (should have) taken some notes. Perhaps Cabin in the Woods would've been the next great thing in horror.
I also love all of Death Proof. It's wonderful. Great set up. Fun. Vicious. Exciting. Love it.
Also loved the Schoolboy Q track in the club. Perfect.
