Were Lani Tupu and Jonathan Hardy even on set to do voices for Pilot and Rygel? When I watch the special features, it seems like the puppeteers are doing scratch voices that get dubbed over later. That seems like a huge challenge in its own way, to act opposite a stand-in.

Before April gets there? I would bet cash money that Ann made April sit there in the conference room while she wrote out the whole thing on the whiteboard before they could start singing.

It's been a while since I've seen the show, but I feel like that kind of thing happens a lot in the first season while the characters are trying to figure out how they're going to relate to each other. That sounds like a job for Grandpa Zeek.
