Towards the end of that time, yes. Blackface was still used in movies further into the 40s, and in cartoons even later than that.

While I agree that many movies these days are bloated beyond comprehension, we should remember that just because a movie is long doesn't mean it's bad. Unless it's a Transformers movie.
I mean, his newer movies might not appeal to you at all, but all three of the movies you mentioned clearly appealed to many people other than just Tarantino himself, since they each made more money than the previous one. (FWIW, I didn't love Django myself, but I've rewatched Bastards several times.)
If you think this created cognitive dissonance in "not an inconsiderable portion" of the original audience, you are proof of how far we've come in 70 years. I can guarantee you, the portion of the audience that was disturbed by that number originally was tiny.
You just ruined this man's life.
Watch the first few eps, you'll know pretty quickly if it's for you or not. I enjoy it, but it's not appointment viewing.
That would probably be my second choice, although I know many people who'd agree with you.
Yeah, the published sheet music doesn't even have that interlude in it.
Curtains was a very charming show. I thought "Coffee Cup Mornings" was quite lovely.
I think "Breathe" could totally be heard on the radio.
It is very catchy. "Three Bedroom House" is probably my favorite song from the show, but that wouldn't make sense out of context either. I'd probably have chosen "Let Me Walk Among You" or "Inside Your Heart," myself.
Well, the theater was shut down for renovations right after they closed, but if the show had been selling out, they would have kept running, even if they had to move theaters (Rock of Ages did just that.)
The final fight was fantastic, I agree with that.
There is some other good stuff in Bridges, but "Another Life" really is the best song in the show.
I agree that it's very good, but it had a nice run. Shows really shouldn't run for thousands of performances. They usually get stale.
Sadly, it was just about as good as you would have expected it to be.
I tend to agree with you. Particularly because they picked the two youngest-looking and sexiest 37 year olds they could find.
Although "easiest song to sing" is kind of subjective, I don't know if that's necessarily true. Sondheim has written a number of songs that are vocally easy to sing.
Like most of these types of lists, YMMV. I for one would be so happy if I never heard "Gimme Gimme" again - I didn't like it the first time I saw the show and I still don't like it. I've never heard a song as desperate to be a show-stopping 11 O'Clock number as "Gimme Gimme"; if it were a human being, the sweat would…
Worth noting that Guys and Dolls is almost entirely original, with only character names and a few basic ideas taken from Runyon. The story was created out of whole cloth.
