I assume you're referring to his "Most Overrated" post. All I can say is: he's wrong. That might be his interpretation, but I certainly didn't think that when I saw the movie, and the other people I was with also would disagree with him.

Honestly, I thought Fergie was the best thing in Nine. She was the only person who would've gotten applause doing that number on stage.

I think The Babadook is far superior to the other two movies you mention (I liked them both, FWIW), and it should definitely be on this list.

…except for in Nine. But I blame Rob Marshall for that.

You can sign up for it right now. The AMC 3-D/IMAX inclusive package isn't up yet, but regular Moviepass is.

If the movie theater accepts Discover, it should work with Moviepass. This is a partnership with AMC but the Moviepass will still work at all the other theaters it has been working at - over 90% of the theaters in America according to the CEO.

As a current MoviePass member, the 24 hour countdown does suck. But it's still a great deal IMO. I live in NYC, and every art theater here but three accept MoviePass no problem. I frequently use it at the IFC Center and at Lincoln Center.

Thanks for this! I will listen today at work.

Gosh, I'm Lutheran and I just can't get into Sufjan Stevens. I don't really care for his voice or his arrangements.

Check out some of the English translations of Bach's cantatas if you'd like to hear some complicated thorny theology in your sacred music.

It's a different Pharaoh.

That story and Herod's birthday party, in the New Testament.

It does bear mention, in Genesis 6:3 - Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years."

Noel, I'm kind of sad you don't mention the Doonesbury musical, which is what prompted Trudeau to start aging his characters in real time. Writing the musical is what prompted the two-year hiatus of the strip, and they all graduate at the end of the show.

I prefer Jessica Keenan Wynn* myself.

I mean, I love musicals, and this was not good. Sound of Music, for all its problems, was never boring. This was boring. If I hadn't had friends over, I would've turned it off before it was over. The added songs were some of the best parts, but the cast was mostly just flat and uninspired.

I wish Steve Purcell would get back to making new Sam and Max.

Remember when she used to be How I Met Your Mother's Nazanin Boniadi?

I would probably die and go to heaven if the Linda Danvers Supergirl became a TV series, since apparently I'm the biggest Linda fan on earth, but even I'm not delusional enough to think that DC "Linda Danvers is retconned" would allow a show based on that character.
