@avclub-825ac1bddf9396fedf300d2874820178:disqus I immediately thought of XOjane.com as well. Even though I greatly enjoy Mandy Stadtmiller's writings, the idea of that site is ripe for parody (and would be something Hannah would adore.)

I couldn't believe that no one really cared about that redhead dying. I thought for sure Gretel would find some sort of secret white witch powers within herself to save her.

Yeah, to continue what @avclub-a9b08c6e5802aa231f08eaf9949f5294:disqus wrote, I can see reading something like Macbeth at age 7. But how in the world could you get through Love's Labours Lost? Even at 27, I still didn't understand almost all of those archaic idioms.

Yes, May said that it was her version that will be released on DVD/BD. In fact, she said we were watching the digital print that the BD was made from.

Thanks!

Even if that story is totally untrue (and that seems hard to believe, as even Vincent Canby mentioned it in his original NY Times review), I can't believe she never heard that rumor.

It would make sense if that scene was filmed in NY, as he was a working stage actor in NY at that time.

It's not, sadly, and hasn't been for some time.

I saw Elaine May introduce a cleaned-up director's cut of Ishtar at the 92nd St Y about two years ago, and it played wonderfully with an audience.

That blu-ray is fantastic. I just bought it, and the movie lives up to all of the expectations I've had for it for years. Hilarious, and sweetly moving.

The Heartbreak Kid is also the only one of May's films that I've never seen, and I would love to.

If anyone is interested in a comprehensive study of the birth of sound cinema, read A Song in the Dark. A friend gave me a copy about five years ago, and it is incredibly fascinating if you're into that sort of thing.

I'll miss weekly coverage of this show, but I get it - there's not much to discuss, outside of, "Hey, Kenzi had some great one-liners this week!" and "Nice Lauren/Bo sex scene in this episode."

I would also love to see weekly reviews of this!

One of the things I liked about the first season is that all the members of Liber8 have relatively distinct characters, even if a few of them are only lightly sketched in.

You should finish it, yes, and it is getting a second season.

He lied to us through song…I HATE when that happens.

I am also in love with her.

That's one of my favorite old hacky jokes.

White guy power!
