Well there, I think the problem is that she's not nearly weathered enough. Lindsay Lohan could conceivably pull off spending the last thirty years in a dive-y burlesque house, but Gaga still looks like a 20-something.

Well, they will have to cast two girls per part, at least - that's the way it's always been done. Are you suggesting they cast more than two girls per role?

Dainty June doesn't sing any soprano music. Louise has to sing significantly higher than June.

You don't think Gaga playing Louise would be a stretch?? I can't see it at all. She's too old, too modern, too brassy. There is no way she can play the shy, retiring Louise of "Little Lamb" and "All I Need is the Girl."

I actually think Gaga might be able to play Dainty June. There is no way on earth she could play Louise. For one thing, she already reads MUCH too old.

Anyone know the name of this short? I would love to watch it again.

I can't believe you don't like "Winter Was Warm"! Although I understand where you're coming from - it's a very mature song for an animated kids' special. It certainly is a much more sophisticated take on Belle's feelings than, say, "When Love is Gone" from The Muppet Christmas Carol. I think it's a wonderful song,

A number of those Muppet songs are very catchy, but I find very few of them really satisfying in the way I find the Magoo songs. Paul Williams always had great melodic ideas but I don't know that he was ever great at writing those Broadway-type songs from beginning to end.

I think "Alone in the World" is lovely, but the real gem of the score is "Winter Was Warm" - a fantastic melody coupled with surprisingly moving and sophisticated lyrics. In fact, they are some of Bob Merrill's best lyrics he ever wrote, IMO.

It's hard for me to differentiate between ages of kids these days, since I'm so far away from being one, and I don't have any of myself yet. But it is certainly a show aimed towards young children. Much more Sesame Street than The Muppet Show. 10-year-olds might like it, but I would imagine she was more into Jem by
