It really is probably an apex of practical effects.

"Mean Green Mother" seems to have been part of Ashman and Oz's conception of the film version from the beginning. I honestly don't know if it helps the film. It kind of plays like an unnecessary 11 O'clock number now that "Don't Feed the Plants" is back in.

That might be my favorite moment of the stage version. It doesn't come off quite as well onscreen, but still much better than the theatrical ending.

That's still not in the film, and was probably never filmed.

The stage version is much truer to the original film in that respect. I mean, the dentist's death is similar, but he actually kills his boss in the stage version (and his boss isn't depicted as quite so corrupt and "deserving".)

I had this conversation with someone (@avclub-29501df08e5d9ae59e432e4f188d3735:disqus ?) about this a week ago in the Rock of Ages article.

I saw the first episode, and I kind of liked it, but it didn't immediately grab me like Strike Back did. I'll probably watch the first season, at least. Agreed that George is fantastic here.

Brenda Starr was great when I was eleven, and it was on a local WB affiliate at 3PM on a Saturday.

You have a great screenname, by the way.
