I'm hoping for a Holy Trinity.

I had the same experience. Listening at work, like I usually do on a Monday or a Tuesday, I actually had to pause the podcast because I could not breathe.

Completely agree. I looked forward to Man in the Dark because I love so much of his work, and it was just awful. But I'll happy re-read his older books over and over again, and Brooklyn Follies was pretty good.

Man in the Dark is one of his worst, IMO - I could barely get through it, and I would call myself a huge fan. Try New York Trilogy or Timbuktu.

I liked it a lot too. I kind of agree with you about Lauren Ambrose, who I would marry in it a minute, but it worked in the movie - sometimes it really isn't you, it's me. (Not very often, but sometimes.)

I had read a lot about how all the characters are unlikeable, and gosh, I didn't get that at all. James Marsden's character was unlikeable, but had a small amount of charm and was good-looking. All the other characters made mistakes, put up walls, pushed people away, but I didn't find any of them unlikeable.

Yeah, but the screen is so much bigger! I felt the same way about The Avengers - I would've paid the extra money to see it at Lincoln Square, but not at a normal-sized screen that they've gussied up a bit.

Well, I did say "until", implying that it would not be in theatres on Friday. Apologies for any misunderstandings.

Yeah, I wanted to see it, but in NYC it's only playing at the fake IMAX theatres, and that's not worth it to me. I'll get the blu-rays and watch on my HDTV.
