It's still pretty delicious for a fast food burger. Way too expensive, yes, but you'd pay about the same at Applebee's or TGI Friday's for a worse burger.

Yeah, exactly. Just because a character is an ethnic minority doesn't mean that the writers are making broad generalizations about that minority. Assuming that fosters a kind of reverse racism (where minorities can only play noble and dignified characters.)

Are you being sarcastic when you call the Rocky Horror episode "critically lauded"? From what I recall, most critics trashed it unreservedly.

They did for this week, at least.

Seconded, although I do have a great fondness for Village of the Damned.

As someone who loves Nosferatu and Sunrise, I'm kind of surprised I'm not more aware of this movie. This essay and those clips certainly make me want to check this out, ASAP.

I fully support this comment. And I would like to fully support Ms. Bell's rack as well.

Yeah, I think that lots of people know about the huge MT bootleg scene. It's just that the people who don't know don't really care about it.

Well, now I've got "One Track Mind" stuck in my head. Thanks a lot, Todd.

One of my favorite things about this episode was the accuracy of the Godspell cast members, considering the show just started previews last week. Literally every little animated guy in that five second clip is an actual cast member, and those are all of their costumes.

Merrily We Roll Along, bro!

Not that I would ever pirate HBO's fine programming, but I found a torrent for this episode on a number of sites last night before I went to bed. I'm not sure why you can't find it.

I agree with both of you - at first, I thought Martha was making up being a film buff cause she wanted to impress Alicia. Otherwise it doesn't make sense why she'd talk about being embarrassed so much.

Is the alt-text a Sweeney Todd reference? "Pretty women" isn't repeated - it's "Pretty women, fascinating, sipping coffee, dancing…" Or is the joke that you don't know the lyric and are too busy to look it up?

Kathleen Robertson, if you haven't seen it by now. Personally, I'd say it's well worth watching just for that scene, since I've been in love with Ms. Robertson for about ten years now.

Yeah, I've always thought that Treme looked pretty expensive, but hey, what do I know?

@JoanieDodds:twitter  - she's been one of my favorites ever since her cycle. Unfortunately, I graduated college one year before she came to my school. I was so sad.

I have been in love with her since West Bank Story. And in love with her cleavage since American Dreams. I sat through that terrible Jeremy Piven used-car movie for her!

Kayla's brand word should've been "lesbian." Seriously, can she mention it any more?

I kept wondering how they felt next to an actual supermodel who is younger than almost all of them.
