I just realized that, for those who are watching for the first time, Ruth might seem like she gets around, dating two guys at once. David also seems like he takes commitment quite lightly ("It doesn't have to mean anything!"). Meanwhile the biggest DangerSlut of all seems like she's settling down quite nicely into

slow clap, hapless flunky, slow clap.

A day later… thanks George, I have been illuminated.

I think the lack of commentary is because Teti is so good… he leaves nothing for us to discuss! It's just a chorus of "Yup, I agree, me too, yeah!"

Last week was Brotherhood
But this week started with the Dimas brothers and then cut directly to the Fisher brothers

agreed. definitely the most memorable. Also, Nate's comment on the ticking clock of life nicely calls back to the bear pointing at his watch. Probably also an allusion to Alice in Wonderland, another drug-induced fantasy.

George Liquor:

Your friend is an idiot. Macca is obviously short for McDonalds.

Brenda and Nate
I turned to my partner during the scene where Brenda comes home after Nate finds Aussie-bloke and said "That's a master-class in the art of manipulation." Brenda's MO seems to be keeping secrets then angrily demanding that Nate trust her, as if she's the aggrieved party.

Visions
This week, no dead people talking. All the visions are of live people. Mostly by Claire. I blame Castaneda. I read that shit too in high school, and thought I was so "deep" and "intellectual." Hmmm, maybe that's why I always identified with Claire?

Also, Nate jokes about a brain tumour as cause for his headaches.

"… until all of his problems don't hurt anymore or everybody dies, whichever comes first."

Jerkface… also pretty well known in French Canada, for obvious reasons.

Duh, she obviously has a degree from the School of Hard Knocks and so is eminently qualified to teach Life 101, Life 102, and Econ371 (Advanced Gettin' Paper).

Hey, I've been waiting all day for the robot uprising. Stop fucking and start revolting!

I don't know if it's all AVClub Classic, but in the first writeup for 6FU I think Teti/commenters decided that the series was generally excellent so assigning grades to individual episodes was pointless and would lead to a lot of pointless debate over A- vs. B+, etc.
Why not post your own grades and see if people

I was just looking at the program for Divers/Cite, Montreal's Pride celebration. It's house music and drag queens as far as the eye can see. Even the gay community projects this image of itself, both to itself and to the outside. No wonder your dad was confused. I felt the same way, too, when I came out at 17. I

Interesting compare/contrast
In this episode we learn more about Nathaniel Fisher and his need for "A Room of His Own" and we learn more about Ruth's relationship with Hiram and the fact that she's still a hottie in the over-50 set. So the straight-laced housewife was stepping out and is still, despite her guilt, hot

Jerkwads like this are why you have to go through about ten ethics committees to do animal experiments.

Ineffably…
