I saw it recently and thought it was probably the worst of series 7. It just came across as a big (but still mildly entertaining) mess, really, and the kids knocked it down by at least a letter grade.

…and while we're on Google shout-outs, you should check out London postcode SW5 9RB in Google Streetview.

Hey, you know what I never see in the AV Club's Doctor Who discussions? The comics. I had the ones collected into a book called Voyager, and I suspect it's pretty much the wackiest Doctor Who story in existence. The Doctor plus Hitchhiker's Guide plus freaky psychedelic fantasy plus postmodernism equals stuff that

Dear Lord God I am so bad at computer games that I just got stuck on the Doctor Who Google Doodle. Stupid Weeping Angel…

Ha, I've been catching up on series 7 and checking out the reviews after watching the
episodes, and, my God, Whovians must be the most acrimonious bunch of
fans in existence. All those people getting personally offended by
negative reviews of stuff they liked, or the opposite…

I'm making my way through Margaret Atwood's The Blind Assassin, which is proving… slow. The affair/sci-fi story bits are entertaining, but the main narration seems to suffer from a major, major excess of detail. Still, coming up to the half-way point now, and I ain't gonna quit…

I loved Yeezus but really, really don't get the love for this song. I remember seeing people calling it one of the best on the album, and it's been chosen as a single, but for me it just works as a nice finishing track. Settles things down nicely after the relentless aggression of most of the album, but I don't

Ha, that's true. I suspect that's deliberate, though.

Eh, you get used to it. I've been posting using my real name and picture for ages now.

I really can't see what people mean about having to make new accounts. Was it some temporary glitch or something?

Ah yes, got it now. As my reply suggests.

Ha, I just turned off my adblocker to see what the site looked like and immediately got hit with an auto-playing video. Back on it goes.

Oh yeah… is there anything to indicate when someone replies to you? Or is the fine art of AV Club conversation dead?

Presumably it's to encourage newcomers to the site. Whether it works or not is another matter, but they've got to keep trying to get people to come here.

Ah, maybe. I'll await the judgment of 2015. Good point about different resolutions- that has to be a major factor.

Ha, it's actually pretty fun to see the downvotes come in… also I do agree with a comment earlier- this kind of 'big pictures everywhere' design will probably get mocked by absolutely everyone everywhere in a couple of years when functionality makes a comeback.

Oh, I should add though that Disqus's 'load more comments' button bugs the crap out of me. Pages were definitely better.

Seems pretty damn OK to me. White space is nice and I'm sure I'll get used to it. Mind you, I compare these things to the absolute gold standard of website redesign disasters that is Flickr, and this beats that purely because it doesn't bring my computer to a screaming grinding halt every time I try to use it.

I was really impressed with that meself. Dude's 72 and from the sound of it still having a lot of fun. Well played, him.

Fair point, but even in that case I think her situation deserves sympathy. People change and the relationships change with them… or don't, as the case sometimes is. I think I'd sit pretty firmly on the fence on this one.
