I thought this episode was around B level, and I think this is right.  I loved that he went Full Evil, and thought it was exactly what was needed, but a lot of the transition in the character was handled very clunkily- a lot seemed to hinge on the exposition-filled, typically bad conversation in the hallway with Ghost

As a catchphrase, it's no 'hello, whore!'

Yeah, I've never found it actually confusing… it's just jarring when it's used for relaying Dexter's thoughts, exposition, counterpoints to him…

Agreed a thousand times.  It blows me away when the review up there says "I really hated the abandonment of the Dark Passenger concept".  Because really… it's always been stupid, and now they've got rid of it, and even managed to insult it a bit on the way out.  I'm actually very happy about that fact.

While I'm posting… the dumbest thing for me was not the death, or even the transformation into Suave Gay Pixie Dream Buddy as such, but Isaak's switcharound.  Here we have a deadly killer, come there specifically to avenge his lover's death, losing everything because he won't drop it.  Hell, in the very last scene of

Were they identified as such by Miami Metro, though?

The Juan Pablo thing was fine.  Dexter searched the name, found a Columbian footballer, made the leap to the dead Columbians.  Was it Columbians?  Anyway, that part was remarkably non-stupid writing for this show.

Maybe they thought he was using a highly accurate giant catapult.

Yes yes yes.  Two episodes would have done it and made it awesome.

Sadly I almost agree with this assessment.  For me it still wasn't as bad as last season, though, because Isaak was cool enough to be watchable even while being turned into a magical fairy.
