I wish I hadn't read your comment. The review doesn't spoil anything on its own- it was speculation written by someone who hadn't seen the rest of the series. Same's true of all of the other comments. You, on the other hand, seem to be confirming that the twist does indeed happen later on.
Actually, to answer my own post… I think they start the film in economically direr straits than usual. That might do it, actually.

Yes, I was about to put a separate post about that. Rewatched this fairly recently, after first seeing it before I saw
Firefly, and Mal's character arc struck me as weird. It worked well for a
standalone film, but seen in the context of the series, early on all the mean/hardass parts of his personality seemed…

This list, though, is the one with Gremlins 2 in, and it's about personal favourites and overlooked films.

Magic Xylophone- just close your eyes, play the theme music in your head, and picture Daniel Day-Lewis jumping through a waterfall. You'll get it.

Ganondorf, take a look at the film's in PG's list above you. Are you saying that Titanic, Shakespeare in Love or Forest Gump are among the very best of the 90s, and anyone who thinks otherwise is an incorrigible hipster?
