I think it would have been better if he wasn't gay. I think it simplifies his story. Would have been more interesting to me if he was just deeply disturbed and umcomfortable with no real reason or explanation.

I really don't get why people complain that the show is "unrealistic." It's a spy story. It's not attempting to be a documentary look inside the day-to-day-life of Obama's White House. Enjoy it for what it is.
