Seriously, why does everyone hate on Ghostbusters 2? I watched it last week and it more or less holds up. It's not as good as the first, but let's face it -that would be a tall order. There are a few cringey "catchphrase" bits, but it's funny, has a great villain and it's nice to have the gang back together. It gets a…
If I Die Before You
I loved that the music at the end was a reprise of If I Die Before You, the original song from the end of last year's Valentines episode. It's a lovely little song.
That was… Remarkable.
"Fat Neil"
This episode was awesome on two counts - 1. it was straight up hilarious, and this has been covered in detail already. 2. it gave a really nice payoff to what I thought was a pretty low joke, when Jeff says that "Fat Neil is after the last of the Lima beans", or whatever it was. Jeff can be an asshole, I…
Awesome summation. This is what I was feeling as I watched the episode, and was therefore really confused by the ambivalence. One of the most common complaints about this episode was that "I didn't feel like I was watching Community", which, to me, signifies the episodes success (even if I don't agree with the…
I never even thought about the implications of the river finger, but goddamn if you aren't maybe on to something.
Even Annie knows some of them are Transformers.
In fact, Troy's first suggestion for what to drink is "beer" and Jeff says "no, you've had beer".
I'm with ya, slugger.
With you on all of this. I've been positing (mostly jokingly) that Greendale is the Community equivalent of the Sideways / Church from Lost - a strange place where not everything makes sense that these characters can find each other in, grow with each other. That Community basically used the Lost ending for this…
I actually think this season of Sunny has been the weakest since the first, to be honest. Mac's Mom, King of the Rats, Sweet Dee Pregnant, Shaping America's Youth have been amazing, but the first two-parter, the boat, Big Break, White Trash have ranged from "okay" to "awful".
Abed's mother is American though - we found that out in Introduction to Film. I can't remember the exact quote, but he says that his Dad is angry, but not at America - at his mother, possibly for being American.
Perhaps he meant horror for horror's sake?
Even Janis Ian was cute.
Blasphemy!
Thanks Thants. Ants.
You just punched a lady bee!
Ouch, an inauspicious start.
