The whole movie resembled a British "Black Hawk Down" — dozens of famous actors in small roles, almost unrecognizable because of covered faces/loud noises/quick action editing/various accents.
That makes sense. I thought it was the Frenchman, and attributed everything else you said to him.
The "Dunkirk" score was solid. Reminded me of Johnny Greenwood's "There Will Be Blood" score at times.
