"City of Blinding Lights" sounds like Coldplay to me, one of the worst U2 songs, though I admit it was okay in concert. "Sometimes you can't make it on your own" sounds like a lesser sequel to "Stuck in a moment" and the other two songs you singled out just don't connect to me.

Yeah, I think this is the first time I've heard anyone deny that U2 pretty radically changed their sound with Achtung Baby. Only "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses" and "Ultraviolet" really sound like previous U2 material.

That was actually the most groan-inducing moment for me, because the way she entirely ignored Olmos while asking if Hanks wanted anything could only mean she was a) incredibly rude or b) not seeing the imaginary dead guy.

Can't wait for November 18th when R.E.M. will apparantly be releasing their latest smash hit "AV Club Commenter 'rev' Has Poor Taste in Music"

Oh come on, show some creativity in your disparaging comments. Must try harder.

"Streets with no names" refers to Belfast, where you can tell whether someone is catholic/protestant rich/poor by the name of the street they live on. I think it's nice imagery.

Does it? The phrasing seemed to indicate otherwise. "They EVEN nodded…" etc.
