Fran is right in that it is completely and utterly inappropriate, but he is wrong for continuing to date someone who he clearly does not like. I haven't seen any evidence he likes Hannah at all. And for all of Hannah's myriad faults, homegirl lays it all out on the table. There's no bait and switch with her, you know

I think more specials in lieu of seasons would make a lot of sense at this point. I still enjoy the show, but I actively felt less engaged this season. I liked what we saw of Dean in college, I liked Hank and Serena, I liked the whole Blue Morpho thing, I even liked the idea of Brock dating a Wonder Woman-type. But I

I agree this is totally true, but I also think it makes no sense. No matter the book, the potential audience for a good movie is significantly larger. Even with Harry Potter, I know more people who just saw the movies then read the books. So by focusing on rote adaptations to keep Tumbler happy, you risk alienating a

I sincerely don't think he gives a shit. He played one of those secret/not secret shows at SXSW in Austin a couple years back and I am told he played mostly instrumental funk and jazz, save for a medley of hits at the end. No one does that thinking, "This will make me popular with the young folk!" And I didn't even

I know no one cares anymore, but man, I am struggling through this show. I really like the general concept, and very large parts of it. But I think 13 episodes was too long to dedicate almost entirely to Killgrave. He is too deeply unpleasant, and the carnage he causes too brutal, for him to the be the roadrunner to

It just means that you are rooting for fictional characters to get together romantically. It could be the same characters the writers put together or not. The, uh, intensity of the rooting varies greatly.

I thought I would wind up on Team Greg, but I am firmly in the Josh camp these days. By the way, I do kind of hate that I ship, but I do. I totally ship. I'd like to think I am not militant about it, but maybe we all are in our way.

You have my support.

(small voice) So did Angel, though.

I never bought Ron and Hermione in either the books or films. I think Emma Watson definitely had more chemistry with Radcliffe than Grint, and sometimes you gotta follow the heat. If only for a moment.

The original cartoon wasn't complete trash. I present as evidence the Alamo Drafthouse Cereal Party, which is an event at my local movie theater where, for a nominal fee, they play 80's cartoons in the morning and feed you unlimited sugar cereal.

The dinner scene when Williams' ruse is exposed, and when Gena Davis drops the ball in a League of Their Own are two scenes I cannot physically watch in otherwise entertaining comedies. I have to change the channel.

I thought the same thing about Olivia, it seemed odd to me that she would have accidentally gotten pregnant in the first place. True, Fitz has consistently been her blind spot when it comes to her studious and maniacal attention to "optics." But I couldn't imagine Olivia Pope not using her own method of birth control

I thought The Wiz and even Peter Pan made some tweaks to the books that offered some fresh takes without drastically altering the source material. I don't think modern necessarily means cynical, and the original is fairly cynical to start.

Yeah, this one I didn't enjoy. The camera work was legitimately impressive but it took away from some of the THEATER KID! charm, which made me feel less forgiving than I was towards the past productions. The whole thing just felt like the movie but muted. Everything, while good, was still Less Than, and it seemed

"The decision, by the way, is to put Mulder and Scully back at their old jobs without bothering to explain in any way how this could be justified."

The reason I really hated this episode is precisely because it was "the same as it ever was" but also really played up the "passage of time" angle. Fourteen years have gone by. They remind us of that constantly. Mulder has been mostly AWOL. And the call goes out to get the band back together because…a crazy guy on the

To me it seems like less work to accept it as a queer representation. It looks like two ladies kissing, it sounds like two ladies kissing, etc.

It also suited his Anime Villain tendencies to have shiny, floppy hair. Dude was straight out of TokyoPop, from his daddy issues, dramatic but impractical weapon choice, bedroom eyes and foppish cadence punctuated by fits of rage. I am complimenting him, by the way. I thought he was delightful.

I am female and had the same thoughts about Rey. I agree with some other posters that the fact she beat the bad guy in a one-on-one battle in her first outing was a bit over the top, and I think what differentiated her from other Specials in movies. It was like one victory too far for the first of a trilogy.
