I used to REALLY hate the way anything computer-related is portrayed in TV and movies. But it's something they get right so infrequently, you just have to let it go for your own sanity.

Thanks for this! Didn't think your knowledge of Swedish would come in handy around here, did you?

RE: the interview scene, sadly yes, people still use those. Walk into any print newsroom in the country and you'll find one technophobe who is still convinced that they'll accidentally delete something from a digital recorder. And yet, that person will also have plenty of magnetic tape horror stories. It makes me

He was all "C'mon baby, don't be like that." She caved and let him use the phone. Then, after Tyrone went to the trouble of putting on clothes and driving halfway over there, he called back like "Hey man, we actually made up. But thanks anyway, I owe you one."

I'm a little confused here, as it seems like you're restating the very points I made in the review as counterarguments to the points I made in the review. I'm pretty sure we're on the same page.

I quite enjoyed season 4, save for the Michael stuff, but that's always the case. I didn't find the High Star case boring either, but I did think it felt completely unwinnable until the last possible moment, which made it a little hard to buy in at times.

You have a real knack for making me want to go back and rewatch season 2. I've seen it twice, but when I see the passion in your defense of it, I always think "There's gotta be something I'm missing."

I can't see the argument that season 2 lacked the personal and human element of the first season. I'd agree that the less human attachments Jack had, the more he became an anti-terrorism robot, the less of an emotional core the show had. But that wasn't yet the case in season 2, when he was still mourning Teri, trying

Kim was just a problematic character, so it's tricky to evaluate the quality of a season of 24 based on her shenanigans. But I still maintain that season 2 is far superior to season 1. It was the first time the writers were able to build a season with the end in mind from the beginning as opposed to season one in

My problem with the dinner scene was that it wasn't particularly illuminating about Jimmy, since we'd already met his mother and seen a glimpse of his former life last season. Plus, the question with Jimmy now is not really who his family is as much as why he decided to start stealing cars and leading a double life.

Emma Kenney is phenomenal, and Debbie has been my second favorite character since the show started. Ethan Cutkosky, who plays Carl, is also really impressive. He gets a much smaller range to work within given the character, but he's been excellent this season at expressing sadness and grief in the way Carl would

Ouch. Even though I can't stand Karen, a comparison to Ellis seems harsh. There are some things that, once said, can't be taken back. Comparisons to characters on Smash fall into that category.
