Montypark, your dad might be my new hero. In n' Out on my way to/from the Flyaway would be a godsend.

I'm all but certain that Humpday was made on a sub-$100K budget, and, even if the premise was a bit far-fetched, it was still funnier, more heartfelt, and more grounded than most anything else I saw last year.
@Futurechimp: Nice, that's a great area. I'm envious that you live in walking distance of the Vista. It's close enough by car, but I'd be there way more often if I could hoof it… I think it's the best theater in LA.
@Gearo: Sorry 'bout the ad hom, that was uncalled for. I just find that EP, which is a place I'm proud to call home, takes a lot of shit from people who've never spent any time here. The hipsteriffic scene at the Echo on a Friday night isn't representative of the neighborhood… but I'll concede the point about the…
Oh, right, and it's totally awesome that this event will be .5 miles from my house. I'll be there.
@Gearo: Echo Park is one of the prettiest, most vibrant, and most culturally diverse neighborhoods in the city. Yeah it's gentrifying, like a lot of downtown-adjacent LA, and like anywhere in this city, superficial assholes abound… but really, you're just a different kind of superficial asshole aren't you.

Full Clip is almost single-handedly responsible for my love of rap. 43 f'ing years old, what a damned shame. Got my fingers crossed for you, Guru.
Bateman is far and away the best part of Dodgeball. Maybe the humor is just too low-brow for someone of your academic pedigree.
The LOTR parody was a little tired, but overall I really dug this episode. Probably because A) Reginald is a can't miss character for me and B) I found the whole 'night cry' / 'Cry-ceratops' moment disturbingly hysterical.
Hmmm
We appear to have different definitions of the words "greatest" and "speech".
Somewhere in Newcastle …
JFK: Which on is Simon Bird?
Dorf
I had a dream about Dorf last night. I haven't thought about Dorf in years. This is getting creepy.
One of Many Problems
with this flick is the fact that Jonathan Pryce played the U.S. President. Don't get me wrong, I think Pryce is a phenomenal actor and definitely has the chops to appear classy and presidential onscreen, but WHY THE FUCK WOULD THEY CAST A WELSHMAN, ACCENT AND ALL, TO PLAY THE PRESIDENT?
Apparently Kurt Loder borrowed the named of Captain Beefheart's best album for an anthology of his RS articles, which definitely adds a couple of cool points to his tally.
Not that the dudes don't seem a bit like tools, but
Every year since I've been in LA, the McDonald's by my house has put out their Shamrock Shake ads when March rolls around. And every time I try to order a Shamrock Shake, they tell me that they "don't have the mix today." I tried to order one for 14 straight days last year, with no luck, and all I want to know is WHY…
Stardust was just a trifle, but it's one of the better movies I've seen on an airplane. And it has Robert De Niro as a cross-dressing air-pirate, which is, I think, his most believable role since Ronin.
FIFA 10
belongs on this list. I know it's an ongoing series, but this year's iteration is undoubtedly the best soccer videogame ever made and is, in my opinion, the most realistic, playable approximation of a team sport ever conceived.
I like Cheadle more than Howard, though Howard did a more than serviceable job in the first one. I'm slightly bummed about Cheadle coming on board, only because of the disruption in continuity.
