That easily could have been recorded before his rehab announcement and seemed less an attack on his mental health than just an attack on his current character - which, by the way, involves him being an abuser to the mother of his child.

I'm not as sure as some of you commenters that this would be anti-police brutality. I am not super familiar with Madea, but know the movies often espouse somewhat old-fashion values and could see this movie actually being a sort of Bill Cosby "black people, pull your pants up" thing.

As someone who has barely watched either, I think The Get Down licensed a lot of music and I know they got Janelle Monae (and probably other artists) to write original songs for it. Game of Thrones probably has someone composing for it, but they aren't licensing a bunch of famous songs and paying big names to write…
