I'm not defending Johnson as a viable candidate. I just remember when that whole Aleppo gaffe broke and I laughed for a moment before realizing I'd never heard of it before myself and I watched as a bunch of friends and the media all acted like they wouldn't have also asked "what's Aleppo?"
Being a presidential

It's like Gary Johnson not knowing what Aleppo was. We just all agreed to laugh at him/them and not mention that none of us knew either.

Yeah, but I've heard mixed reviews of his ability at being a ghost these days.

I don't know if that was a great idea, but it seems like it would take a certain level of intelligence to hide messages of god in your essentially nihilistic music without people noticing.

Like Dave Mustaine?

The question is do I go to google images and search "Shaggy 2 Dope's throat" or not.

I mean, they spent like a decade gathering a fanbase by making seemingly hyper-violent music about a "dark carnival" and then released a song about magnets and explained their entire career has been an attempt to spread the word of god.

Yes, we've all seen Tech N9ne.

And then HBO makes a show called Insecure and it's about a black person so we just become more insecure.

Only one of them is obese. Shaggy 2 Dope is quite svelte last I saw him.

which hasn’t managed to kill anybody yet, thank God
Uh, a clown stabbed a 16-year-old to death in Pennsylvania at the end of September.

Norm was on Conan and didn't completely derail the show with a ten minute long story just to get to a really lame punchline?

He's Canadian. He voted for Trudeau.

I guess I'm just trying to make sense of such a flagrant lie. I was initially wondering if maybe he's partially black and partially Japanese, but I guess the most likely answer is the simplest, that this guy just decided to write that he's Japanese to save face.

Doesn't that mean his nationality is Japanese?

Also, other commenters have noted that the AV Club has some weird pro-Cameron Esposito bias and I don't have an opinion on that, but it seems kind of weird to embed a video of Cameron Esposito into an article about Phoebe Robinson.

I didn't expect much from her book based on the other comedian essay collections I've read, but the parts of this interview like her discussing the intersection of gender and race are making me think it could actually be really good.
