Oh. That Knife...

I recently bought the 33 1/3 book on Music From Big Pink without knowing it was one of those ones that tries to weave a fictional story around the making of a record (which was not what I was looking for, I just wanted to know about the actual story). I'm still going to finish it, but I'm kind of disappointed. The

'Body Talk' was on repeat for me a lot last year.

I think that's a good gateway, also an awesome music video. Not as dynamic, but I'd also recommend his recent song with Thundercat, 'Walk On By'.

I wore my 'Show Me Your Riffs' Sleater-Kinney shirt to the S-K show I saw two years ago. There was maybe a dozen others in the crowd at the same time. I wish I had made friends with them.

Wait, what are we considering the parameters of punk here? Like, any punk? Or only '90s punk? Either way the answer is 'yes' but I'm just not sure what albums to reference here.

Incompetent and none of them could sing (and thank God for it).

Our Troubled Youth

Wait a sec…isn't that an actual thong the kid finds at the beginning of the video?

Acting-wise? Yes, though RZA has made some really good movie music. Meth showed up in Paterson last year, so could it be long before Jim Jarmusch does a sequel to Down By Law with Method Man, RZA, and GZA?

Talk about making the most out of a small part.

I don't remember much of an audible reaction, like every guy in the room thought, 'maybe if I keep my cool, they'll take us to more titty movies.' Certainly not the reaction that followed the infamous flashing in Zeffirelli's R&J, shown in class a couple years prior.

I was happily surprised when they appeared on screen.

Of a Camaro.

The only place less comfortable to lose your virginity than the front seat of a Camaro is the back seat.

Titanic was so big I went on a school field trip to go see it. The school district found it important enough to spend school funds for high school kids to go see it.

You know what's really punk rock? Wearing the shirt of the band you're in (see: Joey Ramone, Joe Strummer, etc).

Though not cool, No Doubt had some great songs, 'Sunday Morning' & 'Spiderwebs' being chief among them.

How similar is that book to this?:

I don't know, the Plymouth Sundance thing hit pretty close to home. One could substitute Pontiac Firebird or Chevy Cavalier too.
