I agree. It's kind of like anchovy for me. On it's own, I'm not very excited by it, but in sauces and soups, it really adds a great depth.

Cooking segments on talk shows almost never go well. Especially on the Today Show. Everything on the Today Show is bad, but the cooking segments are the worst.
I find it goes well with tomato, like in a marinara, but I'm not much of a fan when it's the main flavor of something.
