Oh. That Knife...

Oh it's way better than the Death Cab version, even if sampling the guitar riff is kind of a cheat.

Nope, Stars.

There's a bit in the new Michael Che special where he asks a man in the audience what kind of porno he watches and the man says 'lesbian' which is fine because he at least admitted to watching porn, but that is also the safest possible answer if you're in public. Che kind of let it go, going on to criticize lesbian

Alex Cross novels.

'Wild' and 'Pink' are already overused band-name words, though something like 'Domesticated Taupe' would be also bad. I like the song, though.

Nope, but he does have a great hairline.

It's 'Simon' again. It's actually a film of David Simon getting blown on a toilet.

I feel the same way, but I read this article without looking to see who wrote it first and at the end I thought to myself, 'that was better than usual.' I shouldn't have been surprised since it turned out to be by Sean O'Neal.

I was from a rural area, so popularity was more based on how big the tires on your truck were.

Counter-countpoint: putting Sam Jackson's 'Ezekiel 25.17' speech on a mixtape and then following it with 'Ace of Spades' by Motorhead is really cool.

I didn't even know 'Coconut' was a real song until I saw the movie. I had grown up thinking it was a Muppets song:

1996 and 1997 are my favorite music years, personally, but not because of ska or Cali-punk. Or Tarantino, even though maybe his best movie, Jackie Brown, came out in '97.

I was a Daisy guy as a 10-13 year-old. I mean, Duff was great too, but I had pictures of Daisy I cut out of magazines and had them on my bedroom wall, school locker, binders…good grief.

'We've got $50, a half-hour, and an ottoman. Let's make a music video!'

Definitely has a movie score feel. I haven't seen Neon Demon yet, but I can imagine this playing in the background.

AVC did indeed used to be a lot better at covering music (I never thought I would miss Steve Hyden around here…), but O'Neal knows his stuff and is good at writing about it. I give his music articles a thorough read (and usually learn about a few artists from his year-end lists too).

I'm very much a surface-level fan. I've been hesitant to dive deeper because it looks like a long rabbit hole.

'how people imagined the internet was gonna be back in the nineties'

He could do Annie Get Your Gun, combine the two.
