Loved this episode. And I love Amy. She's funny but I think this show is as much about sketches as it also is about her as a personality. The Real Beauty segment was spot-freaking-on. Amy's funny but so relatable vulnerability there made her criticism of the campaign all the more real. And the magician sketch was

Too bad it's not on ABC, would make a good companion for Suburgatory. I really dug this one. The little comment about "reading magazines for the rest of her life" and Gilbert's "I actually printed the flyers."

Elenore by The Turtles. It was a great moment.

From the files of "great songs ruined by adolescent trauma", Elenore by The Turtles was used quite wonderfully tonight.

Yup it's a crossover. David Walton's character was at a Braverman poker game earlier in the Parenthood season and Katims has said they take place in the same universe. Which makes things very weird considering FNL's relationship with Parenthood and Adrianne Palicki's role as Walton's possible love interest in AAB.

Totally agree. I wish Drew would take some lessons from Lip on Shameless w/r/t dealing with "college romance", humans, life.

Did anyone watch About A Boy this week? How about that Crosby cameo? Meaningless question: did that AAB episode take place AFTER this Parenthood episode since Crosby and his family only moved back into their house during last night's episode (and would therefore only now need a babysitter, since Zeek and Camille would

I totally agree with you on the Breaking Bad comparison. And I thinkThe Americans is having a second season similar to Breaking Bad's where it is both defining itself, and evolving into an even better show.

Love Wrenn Schmidt coming in as new handler Kate. Thought she was pretty great in Boardwalk and I DO hope she sticks around. Much as I love Grannie, I thought this was a very unexpected and cool way to go.

I love this film. It was my favorite of 2011 (I watched it upon initial LA release in January 2011). It's as much a missing person mystery as it is a story about a brother and sister realizing that they might be perfect for each other. Aaron Katz maintains such a wonderful tone throughout that never gets too serious

I actually enjoyed Season 2 more than 1 - and I loved season 1. I really hope we get a season 3. I thought the move to focus action on NYC was a nice step in 2 and I assume that Mouse, Maggie, and Sebastian will be sidelined or gone if there is a season 3. There seems to be more story to tell before Carrie actually

Season was totally worth it for me just to hear Jessica Lange scream "KNOTTY PINE" over and over and over again via my DVR.

I actually thought Saffron Burrows was very good as Victoria Hand - leather, red hair, glasses and all. I kind of would like to see her lead the team for an extended period. And her ruthlessness made me actually buy her as a "boss".

But I believe they do previously on Homeland AFTER the opening credits. Which I always find odd - since they are soooooo long.

Entire season had a very "Parks and Rec" Season 1 vibe, with great potential in the material and characters, and in the last two episodes it really began to pay off. Please renew this one HBO!!! Also love the YACHT ROCK.

I think he does a great job projecting himself as unattractive for the sake of character. I find it kind of amazing how much less attractive "Stuart" on "Hello Ladies" is vs. "Stephen Merchant" on "Life's Too Short" and yet how much more attractive Stuart is than "Darren Lamb" on "Extras".

Was that final shot directed by Guillermo Del Toro?

I'm happy because it means Susan Pevensie will be sticking around a little while and be more involved.

That final scene was GREAT. The way the camera held on the look on Fitz' face after the kiss, maybe just a beat longer than expected, reminded me of something that might have happened in Buffy/Dollhouse/Firefly. Great episode overall.

Sure this show is still finding its footing and there are a bunch of "hey it's 1960 moments!" but boy this is one of the all time great pilots. And just when you think you know all about this man, the final turn hits. And the way that the music, light, and editing shifts as we arrive in Ossining is just amazing.
